The Five Areas of the Montessori Curriculum
Our Montessori Primary and Toddler classrooms include carefully curated materials across the five core Montessori areas:
Practical Life
Children learn everyday skills that build independence—pouring, scooping, buttoning, sweeping, food preparation, and caring for the environment. These activities strengthen fine motor skills, focus, coordination, confidence, and responsibility.
Sensorial
Sensorial materials help children refine their senses and make sense of the world. Through hands-on exploration of color tablets, sound cylinders, geometric solids, and more, children develop critical thinking and early math and science foundations.
Mathematics
Using concrete, hands-on materials such as number rods, golden beads, spindle boxes, and bead chains, children gain a deep understanding of numerals, place value, quantity, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Language
Through rich exposure to English, Spanish, and Mandarin, children acquire vocabulary, phonetic awareness, reading readiness, writing, and expressive communication. Each language is taught naturally by a native-speaking teacher.
Cultural Studies
Children explore the world through maps, landforms, botany, zoology, cultural celebrations, and science activities. These lessons spark curiosity about the world and help children appreciate diversity.

Purposeful Activities
In Montessori education, lessons are called works—purposeful activities designed to promote mastery through repetition, exploration, and self-correction. A child may choose a work like the pink tower, tracing sandpaper letters, matching sound cylinders, spooning beans, or labeling the parts of a plant.
Each work builds sequential skills and invites the child to concentrate deeply, think independently, and feel proud of their achievement.
Circle Time & The Work Cycle
Every day, children participate in circle time, where they greet one another, sing songs in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, discuss the calendar, practice social skills, and prepare for the work cycle.
After circle, the uninterrupted work period begins—one of the most important parts of the Montessori day. This is when children truly flourish, choosing materials that interest them and receiving individualized lessons from their teachers.
